Report Highlights Opportunities to Strengthen Connecticut’s School Turnaround Program For Maximum Impact

New Haven, CT – Today, the Connecticut Coalition for Achievement Now (ConnCAN) release the following report entitled, “Addressing Connecticut’s Education: Improving Turnaround Measures for Our Lowest Performing Schools.”

The report reviews Connecticut’s Commissioner’s Network, which was created in 2012 to turn around Connecticut’s lowest performing schools and offers eight program recommendations to improve the program. While a promising program, the report highlights that the Network falls short compared to other turnaround efforts and may not provide schools with the conditions needed to truly improve. This report offers recommendations to strengthen the program and to maximize impact so that more Connecticut children have access to high-quality education.
