Achieve, Inc. An independent organization formed by governors and CEOs that develops, benchmarks, and analyzes standards to promote higher achievement.

Achievement First. A non-profit charter school management organization started in July 2003 by the leaders of New Haven’s Amistad Academy.

Black Alliance for Educational Options. A national organization whose mission is to actively support parental choice and increase educational opportunities for Black children.

Broad Center for the Management of School Systems. The center works to identify, prepare and support successful leaders of public school systems.

Center for Children’s Advocacy. A nonprofit advocacy group dedicated to improving the quality of legal representation of children in Connecticut.

Center for Education Reform.A popularsource of education news analysis and a national advocate for education reform.

Center on Reinventing Public Education. A research center headed by Paul Hill at the University of Washington, it focuses on charter schools, school contracting, choice, and school system decentralization.

Connecticut Voices for Children. A nonprofit organization focused on promoting strategic public investments and prudent public policies through research and analysis, citizen education, and development of the next generation of advocates.

Connecticut Center for School Change. A nonprofit organization that consults with school districts to improve student outcomes using a system-wide, integrated approach focused on improving instructional practice and building leadership.

ED in 08. A nonpartisan public awareness and action campaign by the nonprofit organization Strong American Schools. The goal is to ensure that the nation engages in a rigorous debate and to make education a top priority in the 2008 presidential election.

Education Sector. An education think tank that provides sound thinking on policy and serves as an honest broker in key education debates. Home of the popular Eduwonk blog.

Educational Alliance.Based at Brown University, the Alliance promotes educational change to provide all students equitable opportunities to succeed and advocate for populations whose access to excellent education has been limited or denied.

Education Trust. A national research organization focused on high academic achievement for all students and the elimination of educational achievement gaps.

Fordham Foundation. An education think tank focused on research, publications, and action projects in elementary and secondary education reform. Publishes the popular Education Gadfly e-newsletter.

Hispanic Council for Reform and Educational Options. An organization that strives to be a national voice for the right of Hispanic families to access all educational options via parental choice and to be an agent for equity and quality in education.

KIPP. A national network of high-performing, open-enrollment college-preparatory public schools in under-resourced communities throughout the United States.

National Alliance for Public Charter Schools. A national research and advocacy organization focused on increasing the number of high performing charter schools.

National Assessment of Educational Progress. Also known as "the Nation's Report Card," NAEP is the only nationally representative and continuing assessment of what America's students know and can do in various subject areas.

National Association of Charter School Authorizers. NACSA is a nonprofit membership association of educational agencies that authorize and oversee charter public schools.

National Charter School Clearinghouse. Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, NCSC assists in the development, promotion and improvement of dynamic, innovative and successful charter schools.

National Council on Teacher Quality. The premier source of news and research on boosting teacher quality.

New Haven City Wide Youth Coalition. A network of over twenty-five youth serving agencies and resource people working to enhance the lives of New Haven's children, youth and their families.

Progressive Policy Institute’s 21st Century Schools Project. A national think tank focused on promoting education reform through innovative public policy.

Teach for America. A national nonprofit organization that places outstanding college graduates in teaching positions in low-income communities.

Wallace Foundation. The foundation seeks to support and share effective ideas and practices that will strengthen education leadership, arts participation and out-of-school learning.
