Free Movie and Snacks!

ConnCAN is hosting a free encore presentation of the documentary The Hip Hop Project on Thursday, August 7 from 6:30pm to 9:30pm at the Capital Community College, 11th Floor, 950 Main Street, Hartford CT.

The Hip Hop Project is a provocative, award-winning documentary about the power of Hip Hop music and culture as a force for education and change in the lives of urban youth. Youth ages 12 and up are especially welcome and encouraged to attend.  Refreshments will be served.

The documentary screening is part of the Hartford Voices on Education Project, a collaborative effort between ConnCAN and the North Hartford Strategic Network. Through this intensive six-week filmmaking and community storytelling initiative, Hartford teens are given the opportunity to learn valuable video production skills and  to engage with community members around how to improve public education in their city.
