Teresa started at ConnCAN as a Research & Policy senior fellow before becoming Associate in 2014. Before joining the ConnCAN team, Teresa was a Teach for America Corps Member in the Washington, D.C. Region from 2010 to 2012. During that time, she was a Spanish teacher, Drama Club director, and English as a Second Language tutor for elementary and middle school students in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Teresa graduated magna cum laude from Smith College in Northampton, MA, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Spanish and English Language and Literature. During her undergraduate years, Teresa also studied at the University of Córdoba in Andalucía, Spain. She then earned a Master of Arts in Teaching degree with a concentration in Secondary Foreign Language Education from American University in Washington, D.C. Teresa is a Connecticut native who, when not busy conducting research and policy analysis, participates in community theatre and is a member of a improv comedy troupe at the Phoenix Stage Company.
